Just a quickie: plaid-on-plaid and flight delays

Cabela’s parking lot in Anchorage, Alaska. As a quick update, we are due to fly out of Alaska at 6:05AM tomorrow morning. Due to the global flight crisis from a Microsoft Update glitch last week this could be a true fiasco—but we are experienced fiascoists.

It wouldn’t be as concerning if we weren’t relying on three flights arriving on time before we even leave Alaska. Danny, because he’s a minor, can’t fly back to Maine solo. So his father is on his way to meet us in Anchorage. They are going to chill in the RV this week while we are away, or at least that’s the plan. You know, the current plan. The last we heard he was delayed over an hour then put on another flight.

We shall see.

In other news, I have a job interviewish thing I’m trying to focus on in between looking up flight delays, cleaning house, and keeping Danny from driving Kevin bananas while he’s trying to work.

We did some fishing nearby, but they won’t be running in this area until the week we return from Hawaii, you know, if we ever leave. At least the Cabela’s lot is free. People next door ran their RV generator ALL night and it was VERY loud. Then they banged on my door this morning while Kevin was in a meeting to ‘check in on us’ to see if everything was ok because ‘the generator has been on for so long’. I did my best to shoo them away.

Although the vibe I gave off was probably more concerning. I opened the door in green plaid pajama pants, a sports bra, and a button-up red plaid over shirt that was gaping open—and I was holding a half-eaten cookie. I quickly shut the door behind me because he was in a meeting, which was probably another red flag. I explained we are on East Coast time (I mean, didn’t they see all the plaid?) and that my husband worked remotely and needed the generator on for the Starlink. They both looked confused. I asked were they were from and chatted until one of them was called over by their wife. That’s when I realized it was a multi-RV intervention. Do we really seem that sus?
